Saona Island is located off the southeastern tip of the Dominican Republic. Part of the Este National Park, it is known for its mangroves, coral reefs and palm-fringed beaches, such as Palmilla Beach. The shallow waters of the island are home to starfish. Mano Juan is a fishing village with a relaxed atmosphere, located near the Flamingo Lagoon. It has colourful huts and a turtle sanctuary.
